1 Description It occurs as unctuous, white flakes, granules, cubes or castings.

(A) The retention time of the major peak of the sample solution, excluding the solvent and internal standard peaks, corresponds to the cetyl alcohol peak of the system suitability solution.
3 Solubility It is soluble in alcohol and in ether, the solubility increasing with an increase in temperature; insoluble in water.
4 Residue on Ignition Not more than 0.1%.
