Application: MOLHOL® CET is widely used as an emulsifying agent, emulsion stabilizer, thickening agent and stiffening agent in pharmaceutical formulations, including creams, ointments, lotions, emulsions, gels, topical preparations and other semisolid dosage forms. It improves viscosity and consistency, supports the formation and stabilization of emulsions and helps minimize phase separation during storage.

1 Appearance It occurs as a white or almost white, unctuous mass, powder, flakes or granules.
2 Identification
Test (A)
(A) Examine the chromatograms.
3 Solubility It is practically insoluble in water, freely soluble or sparingly soluble in ethanol (96%). When melted, it is miscible with vegetable and animal oils, with liquid paraffin and with melted wool fat.
4 Appearance of solution The solution is clear and not more intensely coloured than reference solution B6.
5 Melting range Between 46˚C to 52˚C.
6 Acid value Not more than 1.0.
7 Hydroxyl value Between 218 to 238.
8 Iodine value Not more than 2.0.
9 Saponification value Not more than 2.0.
10 Assay Not less than 95.0% of C16H34O.

PACKAGING

MOLHOL® CET is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside having bar-coded label and tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 3 years. Preserve in well-closed containers.
